Book Review: Fences & Playlists

I know I said I got tired of reading novels already but I gave it a try again because exams were over already and I ended up reading two books in two days which is something I haven't done in a long time.  So basically, these are the first two novels I've read this year.

Playlist For The Dead is written by Michelle Falkoff. It really is a playlist for the dead. It's about the friendship of Sam and Hayden but pretty much just about what happened after Hayden killed himself. He left Sam a playlist and some other stuff for clues about his death and why this happened. It's a sad book but there's that satisfying sadness we get from books like this and I don't know what's up with that I got really "satisfied" with the kind of sadness I got from this book. I moved on already. But anyway, this book reminded me of Looking For Alaska and Paper Towns which are both written by John Green.

On The Fence is a book written by Kasie West about a girl named Charlie (short for Charlotte) who grew up with her 3 brothers, her dad and a neighbor turned family friend turned midnight
secret friend on the fence. It was about how she grew up without a mother and the mysteries about her mom's death. It's already obvious that this girl has the common characteristics YA novelists write about these days... one-of-a-kind boyish kind of girl but it's okay because it was well written. So yeah, this book is nice.
